Russia open to supplying Türkiye with LNG under favorable terms, says official
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has confirmed that Türkiye could receive liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia, depending on favorable commercial conditions.
Speaking to reporters, Novak noted that Türkiye is already an active participant in the global LNG market, importing gas from various international sources, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The country possesses the necessary infrastructure to accommodate such deliveries, including multiple LNG terminals.
“Türkiye accepts LNG from all over the world, so they have terminals,” Novak stated.
“Our spot supplies or volumes that may be on the world markets, they can also be accepted by Turkish enterprises. It depends on the commercial conditions of specific projects. Somewhere there may be spot, somewhere there may be long-term contracts.”
Russia is a significant global exporter of natural gas, traditionally delivering most of its volumes via pipeline. However, the country has increased its focus on LNG exports in recent years to diversify delivery routes and gain greater access to international markets.
