Russian Army Group Centre commander in Ukraine fired

Commander of the Russian Army Group Centre in Ukraine, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin has been dismissed.

Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov demanded Lapin's resignation. His position was shared by Wagner Group Founder Evgeniy Prigozhin, a source in the Russian Defence Ministry told Moscow Times.

Kadyrov criticised the colonel-general for "surrendering" Liman and for weak protection of several settlements in the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic".
