Russian firefighters put out fire on cargo ship in Arkhangelsk
Russian Emergencies Ministry's Arkhangelsk Region Department has said the fire that erupted on the cargo ship "Tersky Bereg" in Arkhangelsk on August 12 has been extinguished after 8.5 hours.
"The fire was extinguished at 22:27 Moscow time [23:27 Baku time]," RBC reports, citing the department's Telegram channel.
The fire on the dry cargo ship standing at the berth occurred around 14:30 local time (GMT+3) on August 12. The fire broke out in the hold on the vessel’s lower deck. The crew evacuated on their own.
The fire was assigned an increased complexity rating. Some 45 people and 12 firefighting vehicles were involved in extinguishing the fire.
On August 11, a fire broke out in a warehouse in the Moscow region, reported the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The fire spread to 2,000 square metres. The fire was extinguished for several hours.
Telegram channel Baza wrote that the fire occurred in a warehouse of beer products. The roof and ceilings collapsed over the entire area; the watchman was injured.
Another Telegram channel Shot reported that locals heard sounds similar to explosions.
