Shusha to рost spectacular сhildren’s art festival celebrating Turkic unity
The city of Shusha, known as Azerbaijan’s cultural capital, is preparing to host a spectacular children’s art festival titled “Shusha — The Cultural Jewel of Turkic Unity.”
Organised by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Science and Education, the festival will open on June 1, aligning with International Children’s Day, Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry.
The event will bring together schoolchildren from across Turkic-speaking countries in a celebration of friendship, culture, and shared heritage.
Designed to strengthen ties of friendship, brotherhood, and cooperation among children of the Turkic world, the festival also aims to provide young participants with a platform to proudly present the culture and history of their homelands. At the same time, guests will be invited to discover the breathtaking beauty and rich heritage of Shusha.
One of the festival’s highlights will be a vibrant concert program featuring 300 performers from artistic groups representing various Turkic nations. Through music and dance, the children will showcase the artistic traditions of their people. The event will also welcome prominent cultural and artistic figures as honoured guests, along with around 150 schoolchildren, including children of shehids (fallen soldiers).
In addition to the performances, a comprehensive excursion program is scheduled from May 26 to June 2. Festival participants will have the opportunity to explore Azerbaijan’s natural landscapes, visit historical and architectural landmarks, and see some of the country’s major construction and development projects.
This vibrant gathering in Shusha promises not only to highlight the creative talents of young people across the Turkic world but also to deepen cultural connections in a city that stands as a symbol of resilience and unity.
