OTS marks Khojaly genocide anniversary with heartfelt tribute to victims
The Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) commemorated the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide by honoring the memory of its victims.
The Organization shared a post on its social media platform X, marking the somber occasion, Caliber.Az reports.
“Today, we commemorate the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, one of the most tragic and brutal acts in modern history, committed by Armenian forces against Azerbaijani civilians during the First Karabakh War.
On the night of 25-26 February 1992, the town of Khojaly witnessed an inhumane assault, resulting in the massacre of 613 innocent people, including 106 women, 63 children, and 70 elderly individuals, while 1,275 others were taken hostage.
The painful memory of the Khojaly victims and survivors remains deeply engraved in the hearts of the Turkic World. On this Memorial Day, we respectfully commemorate the victims of the Khojaly genocide and reaffirm our unwavering solidarity with the government and the brotherly people of Azerbaijan,” the post by OTS reads.
