Turkic states forge digital economy deal at summit in Kyrgyzstan
The Digital Economy Partnership Agreement (DEPA) has been signed at the 11th Summit of the Turkic States Organisation (TSO) in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The implementation of this document, developed at the initiative of the Centre for Analysis and Coordination of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) within the ministry, will deepen cooperation between TSO member states in several key areas, the Ministry of Economy said, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Among these areas are the development of e-commerce, harmonisation of legislation, customs regulation, and financial technologies (FinTech).
Moreover, the partnership is expected to enhance collaboration in consumer protection in digital trade and cyber security among the member states of the organisation.
The 11th Summit of the Heads of State of the OTS is taking place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan on November 6, 2024. Hosted by Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, the summit brings together the presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan.
The event served as a crucial platform for high-level discussions on the Organisation’s extensive agenda. The leaders made decisions on significant matters, concluded agreements, and approved official documents related to OTS initiatives in such sectors as economy, trade, digital transformation, transport, and security.
The summit’s agenda also covers political and economic developments within the region and beyond, with an emphasis on multilateral cooperation between member states and observers across various domains. The leaders' agenda includes sharing views on tackling common challenges and seizing opportunities to enhance unity and advance the progress of the Turkic World.
