"A terrorist is our target, wherever they are found," the statement read. "The Turkish Armed Forces have neutralized three PKK terrorists detected in the Haftanin region and the Pençe-Kilit operation zone in northern Iraq, as well as four YPG terrorists (the Syrian wing of the PKK) in the Operation Peace Spring zone in northern Syria."
The ministry stressed that Turkish forces would continue carrying out “unpredictable, unconventional, swift and relentless operations” in their efforts to eliminate terrorism.
Thus, Türkiye’s ongoing counterterrorism efforts reflect its unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorist threats and ensuring regional stability. The Turkish government uses the term "neutralized" to indicate that terrorists have been either killed, captured, or have surrendered.
The PKK, designated as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and the EU, has waged a decades-long insurgency against Türkiye, resulting in over 40,000 deaths, including women and children.
