Turkish hotels slash prices for Russian tourists
Hotels in Türkiye have reduced prices for Russian tourists this summer, offering discounts of up to 20% amid weaker demand from European travelers, said Taras Kobishchanov, Vice President of the Russian Tour Operators Association (ATOR) and CEO of Russian Express Holding.
Speaking to reporters, Kobishchanov said new promotional offers are being introduced almost daily, ATOR's Telegram channel reports.
He attributed the discounts to lower-than-expected demand from European tourists during the 2026 summer season. While European travelers typically book their holidays well in advance, this year's travel plans were significantly affected by the crisis in the Middle East, resulting in fewer visitors.
Despite the price cuts, Kobishchanov cautioned travelers against expecting discounts of more than 20%.
He noted that although the Turkish lira has depreciated against the euro, hotels in Türkiye continue to face persistently high inflation and rising operating costs. As a result, accommodation prices are unlikely to fall below a certain threshold, he said.
