Turkish infantry rifle equipped with fire control computer PHOTO/VIDEO

The Turkish defence company KALEKALIP has integrated a fire control computer into the KCR556 infantry rifle.

The development was announced by Selim Erol, CEO of KALEKALIP, at the IDEF-2023 International Defence Industry exhibition, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Twitter page of SavunmaSanayiST.com.

“We have a partnership with an American company to develop a fire control computer. By measuring wind and distance, it allows the shooter to fire much more effectively,” Erol said.

According to him, last year KALEKALIP completed the qualification of Türkiye's first 5.56mm light machine gun. Erol also spoke about export deliveries and the discussion in this context of technical and economic issues both for ready-made deliveries and for the transfer of production technology to some countries.

“At the moment, we are planning production in one or two countries in the near future,” said the head of the company.

Machine guns Kalekalip Kmg 556 CL and Kmg 762 CL

The Kmg 556 CL 5.56×45 machine gun is equipped with a front grip with a retractable bipod and a 267 mm barrel (6 right-hand rifling with a 178 mm pitch). The maximum length in combat position is 860 mm (folding stock with 5 length settings), the minimum length with the stock folded is 610 mm, height is 235 mm, aiming line length is 465 mm, weight is 5.6 kg (without cartridges). The rate of fire is 750-1000 rds / min., The muzzle velocity is 800 m / s, the effective range is up to 600 m. The tape for 50, 100 or 200 rounds is fed from fabric or polymer boxes.

The Kmg 762 CL machine gun of 7.62 × 51 mm calibre received a 368 mm barrel (6 right-hand rifling with a 254 mm pitch). The maximum length in combat position is 970 mm, the minimum length with the stock folded is 725 mm, the height is 235 mm, the length of the sighting line is 520 mm, and the weight is 6.7 kg (without cartridges). The rate of fire is 700-900 rds/min., The muzzle velocity is 780 m/s, the effective firing range is up to 800 m. The machine gun is powered by STANAG belt boxes for 50 or 100 rounds.
