Türkiye hosts event dedicated to Shusha Declaration
An event on the topic "Shusha Declaration: The Path from Brotherhood to Alliance" was held in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye, on September 4.
The event was held at the Shusha Congress Centre with the joint organizational support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Türkiye, the House of Azerbaijan under the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Friendship and Solidarity Foundation, and the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World, Report informs, citing the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of Azerbaijan.
The event was attended by diplomats of the embassies of Azerbaijan and other Turkic states in Türkiye, employees of the Azerbaijani state committee, representatives of non-governmental organizations, media and compatriots.
The event began with the performance of the national anthems of Türkiye and Azerbaijan. Then, a moment of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the two fraternal states.
The participants emphasised the importance of the Shusha Declaration, signed on June 15, 2021, by the Azerbaijani and Turkish presidents.
They discussed the importance of projects of cultural capitals, twin cities, the transfer of the common culture of the Turkic world to future generations, and the unity of the Turkic states.
Recalling Türkiye's support for Azerbaijan during the 44-day Patriotic War, they noted that the victory in Karabakh will forever remain in the history of the Turkic world and this factor has become a turning point in the rapprochement of the Turkic-speaking countries.
The event continued with a video clip from the Victory Parade in Baku and the performance of samples of the music of the Turkic peoples.
