UK ambassador to Azerbaijan attends mourning ceremony for embassy attack victim
British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld took part in the mourning ceremony for Senior Lieutenant Orkhan Asgarov, who died as a result of a terrorist attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran.
The ambassador visited a special tent set up in the Yasamal district of Baku. He took part in the funeral ceremony and expressed condolences to the father of the martyr, Report informs.
To recap, on January 27, at about 8:30 am Baku time, an armed attack was made on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran. According to the information, the attacker with a Kalashnikov assault rifle in his hands entered the security post and killed the head of the security service, Orkhan Asgarov. While preventing the attack, two embassy guards were also wounded. The condition of the wounded is assessed as satisfactory. The attacking terrorist was detained by an employee of the Azerbaijani embassy.
