US adopts first declaration on Azerbaijan's Victory Day
Brooklyn Borough Hall in New York City hosted an event on November 8, Azerbaijan's Victory Day.
The event, which was held with the support of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Work with the Diaspora and under the initiative of the American-Azerbaijani Women's Association and New York Cultural Center, was attended by representatives of the Brooklyn borough, diplomatic corps, local community, Turkish and Jewish communities and Diaspora activists from different states of the United States, APA reports.
Congratulating the Azerbaijani community on the historic holiday, Antonio Reynoso, President of the Brooklyn borough of New York City, said that the Azerbaijanis living in the metropolis play an active role in the city's social, economic and cultural life. Reynoso presented the declaration he had signed on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Victory Day to the State Committee on Work with the Diaspora, chairman of the USA-Azerbaijan Women's Association Munavvar Vahabova and head of the New York Cultural Center Telman Jalil.
It was noted that this was the first declaration adopted in the United States on the occasion of Azerbaijan's Victory Day.
Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the UN Yashar Aliyev and Turkish Consul General in New York Reyhan Ozgur also attended the event.
