US reconnaissance drone spotted again near Iran’s border
A US Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton reconnaissance drone has been observed again over the neutral waters of the Persian and Oman Gulfs near Iran’s border, according to a source cited by TASS.
“The Northrop Grumman MQ-4C Triton reconnaissance UAV, capable of monitoring extensive areas of land and sea, has again been spotted over the neutral waters of the Persian and Oman Gulfs, in close proximity to Iranian airspace,” the source said.
He noted that the drone flies at an altitude exceeding 14 km, allowing it to operate without disrupting air traffic in the area, including civilian flights.
Air traffic control services have been tracking the MQ-4C Triton for several consecutive days. Each time, the drone follows the same flight path, remaining airborne for a total of 10–15 hours per mission.
The source added that the UAV is designed to transmit real-time intelligence, monitor both sea and land areas, and can complement operations conducted by anti-submarine aircraft such as the Boeing P-8 Poseidon.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that a massive fleet was heading toward Iran. He expressed hope that Tehran would come to the negotiating table and agree to a “fair and equitable” deal, implying a complete renunciation of nuclear weapons.
Trump recalled that last June, the US struck nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic in an operation called “Midnight Hammer,” warning that “the next attack will be far worse” and urging action to prevent this from happening.
