Washington: Blinken, Michel discuss Baku-Yerevan sustainable peace
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and EU President Charles Michel have discussed the possibilities for maintaining sustainable peace between Baku and Yerevan.
The US State Department made the remarks in a statement posted on its website on May 10, Caliber.Az reports.
“Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke today [May 10] with European Council President Charles Michel. Secretary Blinken and President Michel reaffirmed US and EU support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity. They also discussed opportunities for supporting a sustainable and durable peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” US State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said.
Earlier, the US State Department's Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs welcomed the announcement that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will meet President of the European Council Charles Michel in Brussels on May 14.
