Western campaigns of disinformation target geopolitical rivals – pundit

Western countries are actively conducting campaigns of slander, propaganda, and disinformation against their geopolitical rivals.

Igor Korotchenko, director-general of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies, told reporters, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Korotchenko highlighted the significance of the Shusha Global Media Forum, noting the participation of representatives from many countries as a testament to Azerbaijan's growing importance on the global stage.

“The Global Media Forum in Shusha, now in its second year, is setting new trends for the global media community in the modern world," he said.

"Today, we are faced with numerous cases of fake news spreading around the world. In particular, Western countries are conducting campaigns of slander, propaganda, and disinformation against their geopolitical rivals."

Korotchenko emphasized the envy of some countries towards Azerbaijan, attributing it to Azerbaijan's "unprecedented potential in energy production and export."
