Weapon systems have been determined for the TF-2000 air defense combat destroyer being designed in Turkey.

Air defense missiles of the HİSAR and SİPER families, developed by Roketsan and TÜBİTAK SAGE, will be used in the TF-2000 air defense destroyer, the design of which is to meet the needs of the Turkish Navy in air defense.

The TF-2000 destroyers will be equipped with the MIDLAS 64-cell vertical launch system. It will house HİSAR-D RF missiles for medium-range air defense and Siper Ürün-1 and Siper Ürün -2 missiles for long-range air defense. To ensure short-range and low-altitude air defense, the ships will have the Gökdeniz CIWS complex and an unnamed air defense system (PDMS).

With the use of HİSAR-D RF and Siper Ürün-1 and Ürün-2 missiles, the TF-2000 destroyers will be able to protect their accompanying operational groups from air threats from low and high altitudes and at a distance of up to 150 kilometers.

High-tech radar systems are needed to guide high-performance air defense missiles with high accuracy. For now, the need for precise targeting of the TF-2000 missiles will be met by ASELSAN with the ÇAFRAD multipurpose phased array radar system, which is under development. Rarely seen in the world and with very high performance, ÇAFRAD consists of a long-range radar (UMR), a multi-functional radar (ÇFR), an illumination radar (AYR), and an IFF system, each of which has a phased array structure.

The TF-2000 Air Defense Combat Destroyer (HSHM) will be used at sea as an air shield, it will detect and destroy various guided missiles before they reach the mainland. The TF-2000 destroyers, which are planned to be 166 meters long, 21.5 meters wide, 5.4 meters draft, 8,500 tons displacement, 28+ knots maximum speed, and 18 knots deployment speed, will be the ships with the largest displacement in the MİLGEM program.

The TF-2000 HSHM with CODOG configuration will have 2 diesel engines, 2 gas turbines, and 2 controllable pitch propellers (CPPs). The ship will have a reduced radar cross-sectional area and underwater acoustic, magnetic, and infrared visibility.

In addition, the TF-2000 destroyers will use a variety of national weapon systems and sensors.
