Armenia recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity
Armenia has recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
This fact finds itself in a statement posted on the official website of the Elysee Palace following the meeting of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with French President Emmanuel Macron, President of the European Council Charles Michel and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Report informs.
The document highlights that Armenia and Azerbaijan reaffirmed their commitment to the Charter of the United Nations and the Almaty Declaration of 1991, according to which both sides recognize each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The parties confirmed that this will become a basis for the work of the border delimitation commissions and that these commissions will be held in Brussels by the end of October.
Armenia also agreed to contribute to the EU civil mission along the border with Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani side agreed to cooperate with this mission exactly to the extent that it concerns Baku. The mission will begin some time in October and last for a maximum of two months. The purpose of the mission is to build confidence and contribute to the work of the border commissions through their reports.
