Presidential rep: Five historical sites restored in Shusha
To date, five historical sites have been restored in Shusha, the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Shusha district, Aydin Karimov, said at the 2nd National Urban Planning Forum in Baku, Report informs.
“Among them are the Yukhari Govhar Aga Mosque, the carpet museum, and the Mehmandarovs’ house. An akhund has already been appointed to the restored mosque; it will begin functioning soon. The restoration of the Ashaghi Govhar Agha Mosque will be completed next year. And the buildings that cannot be restored will be mothballed. At the same time, work on four monuments continues,” he noted.
He added that construction of the first residential complex in Shusha will be completed at the end of this year.
“Then, in the shortest possible time, we will ensure the resettlement of about 400 families to Shusha. Construction of another residential complex of 17 buildings will begin next year. We will try to complete the process as quickly as possible,” he noted.
According to the special representative of the president, the central street, along which 10 buildings are located, will be opened in May-June next year.
