Türkiye neutralised nearly 2,000 terrorists since beginning of 2023 Defence Ministry says/VIDEO

Press secretary of the Turkish National Defence Ministry Zeki Akturk said that the Armed Forces have neutralised 1,976 terrorists in the region since the beginning of the current year.

"In the last week alone, the Turkish military neutralized 49 terrorists, including in Iraq and northern Syria. This brings the total number of terrorists eliminated since the beginning of this year to 1,976, and the total number of terrorists eliminated since July 24, 2015 to 39,319," Aktyurk noted, Caliber.Az reports.

According to him, the air operations conducted on November 24 targeted terrorist targets in Metina, Gara, Hakurk and Qandil regions in northern Iraq.

“A total of 17 sites were destroyed, including caves, bunkers, safe houses and warehouses used by a separatist terrorist organization. On November 29, 10 terrorists discovered in an underground hideout in the Sinat-Haftanin, the region of northern Iraq were neutralized by a UAV strike and a subsequent airborne operation,” the press secretary added.
