Pundit: Armenian government manipulates public opinion with PR campaigns

Armenian political analyst Artur Khachikyan has said that the government uses PR campaigns to divert public attention from the main problems in the country.

"Armenian authorities are now busy conducting various PR campaigns and diverting public attention from real problems,” Khachikyan said in an interview with Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

"Launching this ridiculous satellite into space (meaning Hayasat-1 satellite sent into space on December 1 by SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket from the US Air Force base Vandenberg), talking about some economic achievements and other such topics just distract people's attention. Perhaps their masters have given orders to tell the public that there are other, more important things in the world, such as our economy, space programs, etc.

The Armenian authorities understand perfectly well what mistakes they have made and what consequences they have brought, but they don't want to admit it all. The most important thing for them now is to stay in power," the political scientist said.
