Armenian archbishop rallies his supporters at Saint Anna Church in Yerevan

03 June 2024 10:13

Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the opposition movement "Tavush for the Homeland," gathered his supporters at the Saint Anna Church in central Yerevan to review the past week and outline plans for the near future.

According to TASS, the opposition event is being broadcast by local news portals.

"The week has been eventful. Yesterday we held a meeting in Gyumri. There was supposed to be a children's concert in memory of the great Charles Aznavour. I had planned to attend in advance, as my children from Ijevan [a city in the Tavush region - TASS note] were supposed to perform there. On the way, we learned that they wanted to change the concert time, and then they cancelled it altogether and dismantled the stage. This is how they protect children," Galstanyan said.

The archbishop condemned those spreading rumours that the movement is fading. "Stop the gossip. If you don't want it to fade, stand up and join us," Galstanyan added.
