Armenian expert: Iran offered help to Armenia during 44-day war
Armenian political scientist Stepan Danielyan has said that Armenian society would be shocked if they find out what proposals Iran made during the 44-day Second Karabakh War of 2020 and which Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan refused.
The adoption of these proposals could change the essence and outcome of the war, he said, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.
“Why did Nikol Pashinyan refuse the proposals?” Danielyan wondered.
As a possible reason, the Armenian political scientist put forward the position of the United States.
“During a visit to Armenia in 2018, John Bolton [former national security adviser to the President of the United States] set the task of closing the Iranian border. He urged Armenians to get rid of stereotypes and said that the US is interested in the attitude of Armenia and Armenians towards Türkiye. I mean, it's important to them. Bolton named the price that the current ruling regime must pay for supporting the coming to power in Armenia. This was the condition for the change of power in 2018,” Danielyan added.
