Armenian PM’s son unveils details of his abduction
The son of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Ashot Pashinyan, has disclosed details of his abduction in Yerevan on May 17, 2023.
He said that he had voluntarily got into the car of the mother of the Armenian Armed Forces soldier Gayane Hakobyan, who was killed in the Second Karabakh War, and attempted to kidnap him, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Telegram channel Armenia Today.
"The abduction began from the very moment when I wanted to get out of the car, but Ms Gayane did not allow me to do it," the young man said.
On May 17, the Investigative Committee of Armenia announced the receipt of a statement by Pashinyan's son Ashot about an attempt to kidnap him.
It was reported that while some Armenian media outlets accused Hakobyan that she and her accomplices forced Ashot into the car, public organisations claimed that the young man got into the car himself.
It is known that the prime minister's son managed to jump out of the car on the move, as a result of which he suffered a leg injury and the kidnappers fled.
