Armenian prime minister to appear before investigative commission on 44-day war
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will soon appear before a commission to investigate the causes and circumstances of the 44-day war.
As Caliber.Az reports with reference to local media, the head of the Cabinet himself stated this at a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Prague.
“I am now concentrating on this topic, thinking about what to say and what to keep silent about in order to simultaneously reveal the truth and not harm the state,” Pashinyan said.
According to him, there is a "huge layer of information" that cannot be hidden from society and which is important from the point of view of the political future of the country.
Recall that the commission was created in February 2022 at the initiative of the ruling majority (Civil Contract faction).
As part of the activities of the commission, the deputies invited those responsible for the defense and foreign policy of the country in the period before and during the war of 2020 to meetings.
The current head of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Edward Asryan, ex-head Onik Gasparyan, former "commander" of the Defense Army Jalal Harutyunyan, ex-Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan agreed to cooperate with the commission, whereas the ex-Minister of Defense of Armenia David Tonoyan, the former Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan, the ex-chief of the General Staff Movses Hakobyan and the ex-deputy chief Tiran Khachatryan refused to cooperate.
