Azerbaijan, Belarus discuss regional security, expanding military cooperation PHOTO
The Azerbaijani Defence Ministry has announced that General-Colonel Zakir Hasanov's official visit to Belarus is underway, with talks centred on regional security, expanding military cooperation, and other shared interests.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation paid respects at Victory Square in Minsk by laying a wreath at the Victory Monument, commemorating the sacrifices made during World War II, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.
An official welcoming ceremony took place at the Belarusian Defence Ministry, where Hasanov and Belarusian Defence Minister, Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin, inspected an honour guard while the national anthems of both countries were performed. As part of the visit programme, the Azerbaijani delegation toured the General Staff Faculty at the Military Academy of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
There, they received a detailed briefing on the military education system, training programmes, and the faculty’s structure and objectives. Additionally, Hasanov visited the Central Command Post of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defense Troops, where he was briefed on the key operational activities and strategic functions of the command centre.
