Azerbaijan clears 53,000 hectares of landmines in liberated lands
In 2023, the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), as well as state and non-state bodies involved in demining works, cleared over 53,000 hectares of territory from mines.
The Cabinet of Ministers' report on its activity for 2023 says that some 31,600 landmines and unexploded ordnance were found and defused in these territories, Caliber.Az reports.
Under the report, 7956.1 hectares of demined territories fell on the share of Aghdam, 14016.7 hectares - on the share of Jabrayil, while 6025.1 hectares - Fuzuli, 6400.2 hectares - Kalbajar, 3570.8 hectares - Zangilan, 1454.2 hectares - Lachin, 4400.4 hectares - Khojavand, 1286.9 hectares - Tartar district, 174.5 hectares - Khojaly, 6993.9 hectares - Gubadli, 585.4 hectares - Shusha, 217.6 hectares - other districts.
