Azerbaijan detains Iranian, Algerian nationals for illegal border crossing 14kg of Narcotics Seized/PHOTO
On November 23 at 19:00, officers from the "Khudat" Border Detachment of the State Border Service (SBS) apprehended Algerian national Chouaib Bendemah (born 2002) while he was attempting to cross the Azerbaijani-Russian border illegally.
According to the SBS, on November 25, at 00:05, two Iranian nationals—Rayen Zadeh Mohammad Reza Ali (born 2004) and Yegana Mikayilli Nematulla (born 2008)—were detained by the "Lankaran" Border Detachment, Caliber.Az reports.
They were caught attempting to breach the Azerbaijani-Iranian border.
Additionally, on November 27 at 02:20, the "Lankaran" Border Detachment intercepted a suspicious Mercedes vehicle. Upon inspection, law enforcement discovered and seized 13.995 kilograms of narcotics, including 11.965 kg of marijuana, 1.525 kg of opium, and 505 grams of methamphetamine, as well as 3,980 tablets of "Methadone M-40".
Two individuals in the vehicle, Faig Tahirzade Shaig (born 1975), a resident of Absheron District, and Dilgam Muradli Gafil (born 1992), a resident of Masalli District, were detained in connection with the incident.
The authorities have launched an investigation into all of these incidents, with operational and procedural measures ongoing.
