Azerbaijan explores direct flights, digital cooperation with Xi’an, China

Azerbaijan is considering launching direct flights to Xi’an, China, as part of a broader push to strengthen bilateral ties, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport announced.

Minister Rashad Nabiyev met with Ye Niuping, mayor of Xi’an, in Baku to discuss current and future cooperation between the Chinese city and Azerbaijan in railway transport and other sectors, Caliber.Az reports.

The meeting also explored potential collaboration in artificial intelligence, digitalisation, and other technological fields. Officials agreed to establish a dedicated working group to advance these initiatives, including the possible introduction of direct air links between Baku and Xi’an.
