Azerbaijan, Georgia discuss expanding economic partnership
Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, has discussed the expansion of the economic cooperation with Georgia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili.
The discussions focused on the economic importance of joint projects between the two countries and their potential to benefit the region, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy told Caliber.Az.
Both sides also explored opportunities for diversifying their partnership to strengthen bilateral relations.
The meeting highlighted the positive trajectory of economic ties between Azerbaijan and Georgia. Emphasis was placed on the significant potential for mutually beneficial cooperation in areas such as trade, mutual investments, industry, transport and transit, energy, and other sectors.
The dialogue reflects the commitment of both nations to deepen their collaboration, fostering regional development and economic resilience.
To recap, Azerbaijan invested $13 million in Georgia’s economy in the first quarter of this year.
The collaboration between Azerbaijan and Georgia transcends their bilateral relations, playing a significant role in shaping regional and global energy dynamics. Georgia serves as a vital transit route for Azerbaijan, providing access to international markets and enhancing regional connectivity and energy security. Initiatives such as the Southern Gas Corridor have not only diversified energy transport pathways but also established Azerbaijan as an influential player in the global energy sector.
