Azerbaijan's shipping firm says Hormuz tensions have not disrupted operation
18 March 2026 16:08
The Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) said its operations have not been affected by the partial blockade of the Strait of Hormuz amid escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf and the wider Middle East.
The company—part of AZCON Holding—said it currently has no vessels operating in the area, and therefore has experienced no disruption to its activities, Caliber.Az reports.
The Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman, is considered one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints, with a substantial share of global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments passing through it.
