Officials and telecommunications experts from Azerbaijan and Iran convened in Tehran to strengthen cooperation on regulating mobile communication networks in border areas.
The Azerbaijani delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Information and Communication Technologies Agency, the State Radio Frequency Management Agency, and national mobile operators, Caliber.Az informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Digital Development and Transport Ministry.
During the meeting, the sides discussed current and future mobile network coordination in regions along the shared border, reaching several key technical agreements aimed at improving service quality and minimising cross-border frequency interference.
The discussions also addressed progress on previous agreements made during a June 10–12, 2025 meeting in Baku, particularly those concerning television and FM radio broadcasting, as well as the release and reallocation of the 700/800 MHz frequency bands.
Both parties agreed to continue collaboration on these initiatives to ensure stable and efficient telecommunications services in the border regions.
