Azerbaijan, Jordan strengthen bilateral ties through series of agreements
Azerbaijan and Jordan have signed multiple agreements and memoranda following the 4th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation in Baku.
The session was co-chaired by Azerbaijan's Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev and Jordan's Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The co-chairs signed the Protocol on the outcomes of the meeting, as well as an Executive Cooperation Program for 2025–2027 covering science and education, culture and arts, youth and sports, archaeology, healthcare, and media.
In addition, the two countries finalised an Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Affairs. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation was signed between Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency and Jordan's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, along with a related Executive Program.
Further agreements included an MoU between Azerbaijan's Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) and Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation (JEDCO), signed by authorised representatives from both sides.
The co-chairs emphasised that the Intergovernmental Commission remains the primary platform for economic cooperation. They noted that the 4th meeting formalised specific directions of collaboration in trade, investment, industry, energy, transport, education, and culture.
The progress achieved in multiple sectors underscores the strategic nature of Azerbaijan-Jordan relations and highlights the importance of expanding their existing cooperation potential.
