Azerbaijan organises media tour amid fourth anniversary of Fuzuli's liberation

17 October 2024 12:00

In connection with the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Azerbaijan's Fuzuli District from Armenian occupation, a media tour has been organised in the city and the nearby Mangalanata heights.

The media tour, organized by the Ministry of Defence, includes military personnel, veterans of the Patriotic War, experts, as well as media representatives, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Military expert Ramil Mammadli highlighted that with the liberation of Fuzuli and the Mangalanata mountain, the supply communication routes of the enemy, linking adjacent territories, were effectively cut off.

Notably, four years have passed since the liberation of Fuzuli from Armenian control, a significant event during the 44-day Patriotic War. The battles for the city, which occurred from September 27 to October 17, 2020, marked a challenging period for Azerbaijani forces.

Prior to the liberation of Fuzuli, Azerbaijani forces freed the villages of Agbulag, Akhullu, and Khirmanjig on October 16, encircling the city. The night of October 16-17 saw intense fighting as Azerbaijani troops successfully liberated the villages of Gochakhmedli, Chiman, Musabeyli, Pirahmadli, Dedeli, Ishigly, Juvarly, and the city of Fuzuli.

Expert Mammadli also noted that the liberation of Fuzuli and the heights of Mangalanata "blocked the enemy's supply routes," further ensuring the success of Azerbaijani operations.
