“On 27 January - International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we remember and mourn the victims of one of the most revolting atrocities in human history.
We stand united against religious and ethnic hatred, genocide, and crimes against humanity, and oppose all forms of anti-Semitism and xenophobia, and manifestations of intolerance,' the post by the ministry reads.
The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27—the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau—as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. This day serves as a time to honour the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust, along with the millions of others who suffered under Nazi persecution.
The Holocaust represents the systematic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of six million European Jews by the Nazi regime and its allies. This horrific process unfolded across Europe from 1933 to 1945.
