Azerbaijan resettles over 2,000 families in liberated territories Official figures by State Committee
Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) said that as of July 31, a total of 2,036 families, comprising 7,901 individuals, have successfully resettled in the liberated territories.
The resettlement details reveal that 822 families (3,132 individuals) have moved to the city of Fuzuli, while 147 families (570 individuals) have settled in the city of Shusha, Caliber.Az reports via the Committee.
The city of Lachin has welcomed 552 families (2,031 individuals), while 44 families (169 individuals) have resettled in the city of Khojaly.
Additionally, smaller movements include 20 families (90 individuals) moving to the village of Talish, 175 families (871 individuals) to Aghali village, 59 families (215 individuals) to Sus village, and 217 families (823 individuals) to Zabukh village.
To facilitate these resettlements, extensive renovation and reconstruction efforts are currently underway in the liberated areas.
In a bid to ensure a transparent resettlement process, the State Committee has implemented a preliminary lottery system. This system determines the allocation of flats to IDPs based on their family composition, and the affected families will be gradually resettled back to their native regions. This structured approach aims to provide formerly displaced individuals with a fair opportunity to return to their homes as part of ongoing recovery efforts.
