Azerbaijan showcases tourism opportunities at Pakistan Travel Mart
Azerbaijan has showcased tourism opportunities at the Pakistan Travel Mart travel and tourism event held in Karachi, Pakistan.
The participation of the country in the event was organised by the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, the Azerbaijani State Tourism Agency said, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and six Azerbaijani tourism companies took part in the exhibition. Visitors to the Azerbaijan stand were provided with information on UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Azerbaijan, its historical and cultural landmarks, national cuisine, tourist routes, and modern infrastructure.
As part of the event, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board Florian Sengstschmid participated in the panel discussion "Renewing Destinations: Sustainable Tourism and a Stable Future", as well as in the Sustainable Tourism Forum organized by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development. In his speeches, he elaborated on Azerbaijan's experience in developing sustainable tourism and public-private partnerships in this sector.
Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) operates direct flights to Baku from Pakistani cities Islamabad and Lahore. In 2024, the number of Pakistani citizens visiting Azerbaijan reached 80,924, marking a 47 per cent increase compared to 2023.
