Azerbaijan successfully chairs Non-Aligned Movement — envoy

Egypt appreciates Azerbaijan's successful chairmanship of the Non-Aligned Movement.

Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hisham Mohamed Nagy Abdel Hamid made the remark at the conference "The Role of the African Continent in the Non-Aligned Movement" dedicated to Africa Day, Report informs.

"We have to work for the social well-being of the region and the contribution of the Non-Aligned Movement to this process is irreplaceable. Now there is a new reality in the world, new priorities, the focus should be on sustainable peace and development of the entire African continent," said the Egyptian ambassador.

The Non-Aligned Movement, the largest international organization after the UN, celebrated its 60th anniversary last year. The organization, which is based on the principles of peace and global solidarity, is currently chaired by Azerbaijan.
