Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan set to establish joint Business Council
Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are stepping up efforts to deepen bilateral economic cooperation, with plans to establish an Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan Business Council by the end of the year.
The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Azat Nazarov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, and Yusup Gylychdurdiyev, Head of the Ashgabat and Ahal Region Department of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, Caliber.Az reports, citing AZPROMO.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 9th session of the Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission.
The participants explored ways to expand trade relations between the two countries, identify products with mutual export potential, and strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijani and Turkmen business communities.
"The parties discussed the possibility of organizing a business mission of Turkmen entrepreneurs to Azerbaijan in the near future, as well as holding an exhibition of Turkmen products with export potential as part of the mission. In addition, they exchanged views on establishing the Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan Business Council by the end of this year," the agency said in a statement.
The proposed business council is expected to serve as a new platform for fostering commercial partnerships and promoting trade and investment ties between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
