Azerbaijan unveils number of sports medals gained in March 2023

Azerbaijani Youth and Sports Minister Farid Gayibov has written that Azerbaijani athletes won up to 70 medals in international tournaments in March 2023.

Azerbaijani athletes won medals in Greco-Roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling, rhythmic gymnastics, artistic gymnastics, acrobatic gymnastics, shooting, taekwondo, judo, para-judo, boxing, table tennis, karate, para-karate and other kinds of sports, Report informs citing Gayibov’s message on the official website of the ministry.

Gayibov recalled that the Azerbaijani freestyle wrestling team under 23 became the European champion for the second time in a row.

“Having won three gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal, our team confirmed its title with 140 points,” he said.
