Azerbaijani agency clears over 1,400 hectares of land from mines in liberated territories VIDEO
The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has neutralised a total of 673 explosive devices during clearance operations conducted between September 29 and October 5 across the territories liberated from occupation.
According to ANAMA’s weekly report, extensive demining activities were carried out in the Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khojavand, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, Gazakh, and Zangilan districts, as well as in the city of Khankendi, Caliber.Az reports.
During the operations, 82 anti-personnel mines, 74 anti-tank mines, and 517 unexploded ordnance were detected and neutralised. The clearance efforts covered a total area of approximately 1,432.8 hectares, significantly reducing the risk posed by explosive hazards in these regions.
Since the end of the 2020 conflict, landmines and unexploded ordnance have continued to endanger lives in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
