Azerbaijani Army's combat readiness drills focus on coordination and self-defence Under Minister Hasanov’s supervision
On February 19, 2025, the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan conducted command and staff exercises with the Ground Forces as part of its training plan for 2025.
The leadership of the Ministry, including Defence Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, oversaw the drills to evaluate the preparedness and operational efficiency of Azerbaijani Army units.
The Ministry of Defence told Caliber.Az that the exercises began after clarifying the tasks on the map, followed by relevant reports from the command staff on the decisions made during the operation.
The units, which had been raised on the "Alert" signal, were deployed to exercise areas where they performed several critical tasks.
These included bringing the units to a state of combat readiness, carrying out camouflage measures, organizing ground protection, and practising combat and self-defence tactics using modern methods and equipment.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov reviewed the exercises and positively assessed the progress. He emphasized that the drills were designed to enhance commanders' abilities to manage units and make operational decisions under various levels of combat readiness.
Additionally, the exercises aimed to strengthen coordination between headquarters and units.
Following the exercises, Colonel General Hasanov assigned specific tasks to improve the professionalism and combat readiness of the personnel, highlighting the importance of continuous development in these areas.
