Azerbaijani cyclist ranks fourth at 5th Islamic Solidarity Games in Türkiye
The first medalists of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games, which kicked off in Türkiye’s Konya city on August 5, have been determined.
The women's track cycling competitions were held at the beginning of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games, Report informs.
Kazakh athlete Rinata Sultanova grabbed gold, Malaysian athlete Noor Azian Alias - silver, Uzbek athlete Sofiya Karimova – bronze at the final stage in the 10 km race. The representative of Azerbaijan Ayan Khankishiyeva ranked fourth.
Some 4,200 athletes from 56 countries are competing at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games. The opening ceremony will take place on August 9. Some 281 athletes are representing Azerbaijan at the competitions. The 5th Islamic Solidarity Games will last until August 18.
