The next group of former internally displaced persons has returned to the newly rebuilt city of Jabrayil in Karabakh.
As many as 35 families (comprising 133 individuals) who had previously been temporarily housed in dormitories, sanatoriums, children's camps, unfinished buildings, and administrative facilities in various parts of the country departed for their native lands on December 2 from Baku's Garadagh district, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Thanks to the decisive victory of the Azerbaijani army during the Patriotic War, under the leadership of the Azerbaijani President and Armed Forces Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev former internally displaced persons now have the opportunity to voluntarily, safely, and honourably return to their homeland after 30 years.
The residents of Jabrayil expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Head of State and the First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive support provided by the government.
They also extended their thanks to the courageous Azerbaijani army for liberating the country's lands from occupation and offered prayers for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this noble cause.
It is worth noting that approximately 30,000 people, including former internally displaced persons, currently reside in Karabakh and East Zangazur. This figure includes those working on regional development projects, employees of local government departments, and staff from healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy institutions that have resumed operations in the area.
