Azerbaijani top diplomat: OTS nations form vital bridge linking Europe and Asia
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasised the need to enhance the economic potential of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) by expanding mutual investments and trade among its members to ensure that cooperation within the organisation becomes more meaningful and sustainable.
Speaking at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OTS, Bayramov noted that, due to their strategic geographical location, the member states form natural transport, logistics, and transit corridors, effectively serving as a bridge between Europe and Asia.
“In this context, the OTS countries possess vast opportunities. This route also forms an integral part of the Middle Corridor. The announcement of the TRIPP route within the framework of the Washington Summit, which will provide uninterrupted communication between the western regions of Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan through the Zangezur Corridor, represents an important step toward diversifying regional connectivity,” the Minister stated.
Bayramov also highlighted that Azerbaijan has been contributing to Europe’s energy security for many years. He praised cooperation among OTS member states in the energy sector, describing it as promising and forward-looking.
“For many years, Azerbaijan has been strengthening Europe’s and the wider region’s energy security through trans-regional projects. The time has come to enrich our successful partnership in traditional energy with new elements of cooperation,” Bayramov concluded.
