Azerbaijani, Turkish space agencies team up to send children of fallen heroes on exciting trip PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s space agency, in partnership with its Turkish counterparts, has launched an initiative to give a group of Azerbaijani children from families of martyrs a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The children have been sent to a winter camp at Türkiye’s space-themed interactive center, GUHEM, which introduces young people to the worlds of space and aviation technology.
Participants from ten families have the chance to explore this exciting field, as reported by local media outlets. They will be able to gain new knowledge and take part in hands-on training with modern technical equipment used in space-related industries.
The space-focused initiative by Azercosmos runs from November 25 to 30 and is supported by the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency, the GUHEM centre, and the Azerbaijani public fund “Zafer.”
Located in the Turkish city of Bursa, GUHEM is one of Europe’s largest centres of its kind. Operating in cooperation with the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and aligned with the ten strategic goals of Türkiye’s National Space Program, it offers educational and practical experiences through 154 interactive devices spread across a 13,000-square-meter space.
GUHEM’s mission is to encourage young people to pursue research in high-tech fields and to strengthen Türkiye’s global competitiveness through domestic and national technologies, helping the country advance as a strong player in the rapidly expanding aerospace and aviation sectors.
