Azerbaijani Uzbek foreign ministers coordinate on regional security, OIC summit
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov have held a telephone conversation to discuss pressing regional security concerns amid the ongoing Israeli-Iranian confrontation.
During the call, both officials exchanged views on the current security situation in the region, emphasizing the need for vigilance and cooperation in response to escalating tensions, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
The sides also reviewed the state of allied relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
In addition, the ministers discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), scheduled to take place on June 21-22 in Istanbul. The meeting is expected to address critical issues facing the Muslim world, including the evolving dynamics of regional security.
