Canadian FM’s visit to border with Azerbaijan - open provocation Statement by Western Azerbaijan Community
The Western Azerbaijan Community has said that Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly's visit to the border with Azerbaijan is an open provocation, which shows her amateurism and prejudice against Azerbaijan.
“The Canadian minister’s threats of imposing sanctions against Azerbaijan are disgusting. Canada should behave humbly and should not be a laughing stock by making such unfounded and hysterical statements. Apparently, Joly is following the example of Yuri Kim [Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs], who also once tried to speak to Azerbaijan in a commanding manner,” Caliber.Az reports citing the Western Azerbaijan Community’s statement.
“A country with a history full of shameful pages regarding the attitude towards indigenous peoples, where the police, security service and border service establish a mechanism of control over people on an ethnic and religious basis (racial profiling), hypocrites with the mindset of crusaders are trying to teach Azerbaijan a lesson, which is unacceptable,” the statement said.
