Egypt signs deal with Türkiye’s HAVELSAN to manufacture advanced drones VIDEO
Turkish defence company HAVELSAN and the Egyptian Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI) have signed an agreement to jointly produce vertical take-off and landing unmanned aerial vehicles (VTOL-UAVs) in Egypt, marking a significant step in bilateral defence cooperation.
The development was reported by SavunmaSanayiST.com and shared on social media, with Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şen congratulating both parties, Caliber.Az reports.

Şen described the agreement as opening a new chapter in Ankara-Cairo collaboration, highlighting the mutual trust and shared commitment to advancing high-technology and defence production. He also confirmed that drone production will begin at HAVELSAN’s Egyptian facility.
The project focuses on the Torgha VTOL-UAV, an advanced reconnaissance and surveillance platform capable of operating in complex environments. Equipped with integrated artificial intelligence systems for real-time data analysis, the UAV is designed for military and security missions, including border monitoring and intelligence gathering.
HAVELSAN, a leading Turkish defence and information technology firm, specialises in unmanned vehicles, command and control systems, and drones. Its product portfolio includes the BAHA UAV and the Burakan ground vehicle, both currently in service with the Turkish Armed Forces.
The agreement comes amid a broader thaw in Egypt-Türkiye relations following years of political tension. In February 2024, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan visited Cairo, signing multiple economic and military cooperation deals with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
The Torgha production initiative builds on this rapprochement and follows a March 2025 agreement between HAVELSAN and Egypt’s Kader factory to manufacture unmanned ground vehicles, further expanding joint defence manufacturing efforts.
