The unmanned aerial vehicle operating project (BUMIN), developed by STM using national engineering capabilities, impressed the public at the Heydar Aliyev-2023 joint exercise. In the scenario, 6 KARGU platforms took off and performed complex actions.
Within the framework of the exercise the Turkish army's first national kamikaze drone KARGU, reconnaissance UAV TOGAN and projectile drop quadcopter BOYGA successfully accomplished their tasks. The national strike UAV system ALPAGU also destroyed targets identified during the exercise.
Thanks to a drone swarm project developed at STM, KARGU can communicate and share tasks with each other. With the ability to identify and prioritise targets, the UAVs can carry out group attacks.
UAVs with group intelligence can move autonomously as well as perform the task in swarms. These systems have advanced features such as real-time object detection, diagnostics, and tracking using deep-learning computer vision techniques.
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Operation Project (BUMIN) gets its name from the words "separation" and "unity" in Old Turkish, it is also named after Bumin Qaghan, the founder of the Gokturk Empire.
