FM: Russia stands ready to support Armenia-Azerbaijan reconciliation
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to the full normalisation of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan during a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan.
Lavrov stated that Russia remains a dedicated partner in promoting peace and stability in the South Caucasus, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
He emphasised that the trilateral agreements signed by the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan serve as a comprehensive and durable basis for resolving long-standing disputes.
"Russia sincerely seeks to support the normalisation process between Yerevan and Baku," Lavrov said.
"You can always count on our support — whether in reopening transport corridors, moving forward with border delimitation efforts, or addressing humanitarian issues in a balanced and inclusive manner."
Lavrov also pointed to the potential of the "3+3" regional cooperation platform — which includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Iran, and Türkiye — as a promising avenue for fostering dialogue and development across the region.
